Dorico v.1.1 is out! I may need to finally buy it…

Steinberg’s Dorico music scoring application shipped last year with a significant number of features missing – what it did, it did beautifully, and with great thought behind how things should look. But for me, who works in the pop music and jazz world a lot, the lack of repeat signs and chord symbols were deal-breakers.

Version 1.1 not only includes those features, it allows the Brandt-Roemer chord system! (See previous posts on this blog for my obsession with that system.) Also included in this update were repeat signs – yay! – and piano pedaling.

Here is the blog post from Daniel Spreadbury at Steinburg. Here’s the one with a great review of new features by Alexander Plötz at Scoring Notes.

So it’s getting closer to something I can use on a day-to-day basis. It’s getting tempting…
